Secure Flight program begins
Beginning Aug. 15, travel agencies, booking tools, and airlines will begin asking for traveler gender and date of birth to comply with the TSA's Secure Flight program. In Connexxus, Balboa Travel (BCD) and UC Travel Center agents will gather this information during agent-assisted bookings. Orbitz will begin later in 2009 along with the Connexxus traveler profile tool, which will be updated to allow travelers or their designated arrangers to add this information so it's automatically and securely provided when booking travel.
