How to Secure Hummingbird HostExplorer Version 8 or Higher (PC)  
 
Summary: You must secure access to the ACT mainframe by configuring your software to use a protocol for protecting data. If you have Hummingbird HostExplorer version 8 software on your PC, follow the steps below.
What to do How to do it
1 Modify Hummingbird to activate the SSL feature and change the port to 1023.
  1. Follow these steps:
    1. Open Hummingbird.
    2. Click File at the top of the window.
    3. Click Disconnect.
    4. Click Edit Session Profile to open the Session Profile window.
    5. Click Session in the Settings Groups.
    6. Click the Host tab.
    7. Enter 1023 in the TCP Port field and click O.K.
    8. Click Security in the Settings Group on the left.
    9. Click the General tab.
    10. Click SSL/ TLS, then click OK to close the Session Profile window.
    11. Click File at the top of the window.
    12. Click Save Session Profile.
2 Open a new Hummingbird session.
  1. Click File at the top of the window.
  2. Click Connect to open the Hummingbird session.
