Returning Items Ordered from Marketplace Preview  
 
Summary: If you ordered an item from Marketplace Preview and need to return it, please read the following.

Note: Do not use the campus mail to return an item ordered from Marketplace Preview.

Type of item What to do
In-stock or catalog items (non-furniture) Merchandise ordered directly from Marketplace Preview must be returned in its original packaging within 10 days of receipt. Items must be in resellable condition.
To process your return:
  • Log in to Marketplace Preview.
  • Go to the Order History page and find your order.
  • Choose the Return Items button.
  • Verify that the pickup location and contact information are correct.
  • Select reason for return from drop-down menu.
  • Type in the quantity you are returning and click Place Order.
Copy the original packing slip and highlight the item(s) you are returning. Place the copy of the packing slip and the item(s) inside a box. Seal the box.
Dell computers Computers ordered directly from Marketplace Preview can be returned within 14 days of receipt. To receive full credit, you must have the original packaging.

To process your return, please contact a Customer Service Representative, (858) 534-7467 and have the following information available:
  • Marketplace Preview Order Number
  • Dell Order Number (Located in the box on the right side of the Dell packing slip)
  • Reason for return
  • Complete a Shipping Memo
  • Attach a copy of the original packing slip to the outside of the sealed box.

Note: You are responsible for any shipping and handling charges. Credit will be processed when Dell has issued the credit.
Furniture




Note: Assembled furniture and furniture designated by our vendor as "special order" is not returnable unless it was damaged in transit or shipped in error.
Because of strict return policies of our vendors, you can only return furniture (ie. chairs, desks, file cabinets, etc.) damaged in shipment or shipped in error. Please inspect your furniture when you receive it. If you notice damage or vendor error, contact a Customer Service Representative at (858) 534-7467 within 24 hours of receipt.

The CSR will:
  • Assist you in obtaining permission for your return, if needed
  • Process a pickup request by a Marketplace Preview driver
You will need to:
  • Save all packaging that you received with your item. You must have the original packaging to receive any credit. If items were shipped in error, item(s) must be in re-sellable condition.
  • Attach a copy of the original packing slip to the item, where it is visible to the Marketplace Preview driver.
Note: Actual color and wood tones may vary from catalog representations. Responsibility for the size(s) of furniture selected remains with the customer.
