Parking at Meters

Summary: Find out the rules for parking at meters.
Rule Tips
Pay the correct fee.
  • The fee for meters is $1 per hour (coins only).
  • Parking is free at meters on weekends and from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekdays.
Never park at a broken meter.
  • Treat a broken meter as if it were a "no parking" sign. Never park at a meter that:
    • Flashes “failed” or other error message
    • Has a coin jam
    • Appears broken
Park front-end first in metered spaces.
  • Avoid the risk of backing into and damaging the meter and your vehicle.
