Voice Mail: Changing Your Name or Greetings

Review and change your recorded name. |
This is what callers will hear in place of a voice mail message, if you have not recorded one. (To record a voice mail message, see Voice Mail: Getting Started.)
- Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key. When prompted:
- Press 0 to manage your personal options.
- Press 4 (change your recorded name or greeting).
- To review your recorded name:
- Press 6 to hear your recorded name.
- To change your recorded name:
- Press 5, then begin recording your name after the beep.
- Press the # key to end the recording.
- After recording, choose one of the following options:
- Press the # key to save.
- Press 2 to review.
- Press 3 to re-record.
- Press * (star) to cancel and return to the previous menu.
- Confirm your name:
- Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key.
- Press 0 to manage your personal options.
- Press 4 (change your recorded name or greeting).
- Press 6 to hear your recorded name.

Review and change your regular voice mail greeting. |
The voice mail greeting that normally plays when you don't answer your phone is your "regular greeting." Follow these steps to listen to your current or record a new regular greeting:
- Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key. When prompted:
- Press 0 to manage your personal options.

To hear your current regular voice mail greeting:
- Press 4 (change your recorded name or greeting).
- Press 2 to hear your greeting.
- To change your regular voice mail greeting:
- Press 1 to record your new greeting.
- Record your greeting after the beep.
- Press the # key to end the recording.
After recording, choose one of the following options:
- Press # to save.
- Press 2 to review.
- Press 3 to re-record.
- Press * (star) to cancel and return to the previous menu.

Deactivate your regular voice mail greeting. |
If you deactiveate your regular greeting and don't activate an alternate greeting, callers will hear only your recorded name in place of a voice mail response. To deactivate your regular greeting:
- Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key. When prompted:
- Press 0 to manage your personal options.
- To deactivate your current greeting:
- Press 4 (change your recorded name or greeting).
- Press 9 to deactivate your greeting. (Callers will now hear only your name in place of your regular greeting.)
Note: Follow the same steps to activate your greeting.

Record and activate/ deactivate an alternate greeting. |
You can record and activate an alternate greeting to play when you'll be away from your desk for an extended time (such as vacation or leave). It will not overwrite your regular greeting. You can deactivate it when you return to work, to default back to your regular greeting.
- To record and activate your alternate greeting:
- Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key.
- Press 0 to manage your personal options.
- To record your alternate greeting:
- Press 4 (change your recorded name or greeting).
- Press 1 to select record greeting.
- Press 2 to select alternate greeting.
- Record your alternate greeting after the beep.
- Press the # key to end the recording.
- After recording, choose one of the following options:
- Press the # key to save.
- Press 2 to review.
- Press 3 to re-record.
- Activate your alternate greeting:
- Press 8 to activate greeting.
- Press 1 to activate your alternate greeting. (Callers will now hear your alternate greeting.)
- To deactivate your alternate greeting (and default back to your regular greeting):
- Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key.
- When the operator prompts you to return to your regular greeting, press 1. (Callers will now hear your regular greeting.)

- Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key.
- Press 0 to manage your personal options.
- Press 4 (change your recorded name or greeting).
- Press 8 to deactivate greeting.
- Press 1 to deactive your alternate greeting. (Callers will now hear your regular greeting.)
