How to Apply for a UCSD Staff Job  
 
Summary: Learn about procedures, forms, and methods of applying for staff employment at UCSD.
What you, the applicant, should do How to do it
1 Complete the online resume/ application.
  1. Go to the online resume/ application form
  2. Enter all required general information:
    • Copy and paste from existing resumes you may have.
    • Type new information into the appropriate form fields.
  3. Remember the exact name and phone number you enter on the application to log in later.
  4. Click the Click to Verify button to confirm your entries:
    • If correct, click Submit Your Application to UCSD.
    • If incorrect, click your browser's Back button to modify your entry.

    After 3 business days, you can use the Applicant Toolkit features to view or edit your resume (see step 3).

    For advice or help completing the online application:
    • Visit the Campus Employment Office in Torrey Pines Center South, Suite 266 (map).
    • Call the Campus Employment Office, (858) 822-4112.

After you submit your online resume/ application, you can apply for jobs at any time.

2 Apply online.
  1. Review the UCSD Job Bulletin.
  2. Click the category, then job title for which you'd like to apply. Be sure you completed the online resume/ application in step 1.
  3. Click Apply here in the upper right corner of the job description page.
  4. Follow instructions on the "Apply for" page, then click Submit.
The UCSD Job Bulletin is updated daily. The New Jobs category contains openings posted in the last 7 days.

3 Access, update, or track the status of your application.
  1. Access the Applicant Toolkit the first time:
    1. Wait 3 business days after submitting your online resume/ application form for the first time.
    2. Go to the Applicant Toolkit.
    3. Enter a password that you will remember.
    4. Enter the exact name and phone number used for your online resume/ application.
  2. Update or track the status of your online resume/ application:
    1. Go to the Applicant Toolkit.
    2. Click Status or Update Resume in the left column.
    3. Log in with your name, phone number, and password. The next screen takes you to:
      • Status: Found at the bottom of the page and updates automatically when your job status changes.
      • Updates: Select the section you want to change. Updates take effect immediately after you submit them.
