Individual principal investigators and supervisors must identify job-specific hazards and make sure their employees attend safety training appropriate for the work they perform.

Laboratory Safety Principles/ Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
Required for anyone working in a laboratory or other high-hazard environment. This course covers general safety and laboratory hazardous waste issues.

Annual Laboratory Hazards Training
Required annually as a refresher course for employees who work with hazardous materials in the lab and generate hazardous chemical waste.
Prerequisite:
If you have not yet completed formal training in safely handling hazardous materials, you must attend Laboratory Safety Principles/IIPP before you are eligible to take the annual refresher course below.
How to get the training:
Meet the annual refresher requirement by completing the Web-based tutorial on Enrollment Central.
Note: Use the "EC credit" link to have the tutorial recorded on your Enrollment Central and MyTraining training histories. Non-employees can use the "certificate only" link to view the tutorials and print a certificate upon successful completion.

Required for anyone who uses an air-purifying respirator.
