Requirement:
Required for employees who must use an air-purifying respirator as part of their job.

- Factors in selection of respirators and cartridges
- Correct use, maintenance, and storage of respirators
- Limitations of respirators

Voluntary Use of N-95 Filtering Facepieces
Recommendation:
Cal/OSHA encourages voluntary users of N-95 filtering facepieces to review Appendix D of the California Respiratory Protective Equipment standard. UCSD encourages these employees to follow standard operating procedures developed for voluntary users.

Note: This training applies only to voluntary N-95 use for respiratory protection against nuisance large-size particulates. If you're using the filtering facepiece on a mandatory status, additional regulatory requirements such as hazard analysis and fit-testing must be completed.
