Security goals: UCSD's goals for reducing risk to electronic resources are based on assessments of:
- How critical an electronic resource is to the University
- The sensitivity of the data that resides in a particular electronic resource
- The cost of preventive measures and security controls
- The amount of risk that a campus or the University is willing to absorb
