Academic Computing & Media Services is grouped into several divisions to support the computing needs of the UCSD community. Following is a brief overview and contact information for each Academic Computing & Media Services (ACMS) division:

• ACMS Help Desk

  • Central support for all of ACMS services

• Account Services

  • Administers instructional and student personal accounts
  • Manages printing accounts for students who wish to print in labs
  • Assists faculty, staff, and teaching assistants with various mathematics, statistics, and graphics software; e-mail, word processing, and programming tools; and other locally supported packages

  • Handles account administration for ACMS recharge (fee-for-service) systems

• Computer Repair and Installation (CRI)

  • Authorized service provider for Apple, HP, and IBM
  • Provides network installation services

• Desktop Support

  • Provides on-site software installation and technical assistance to UCSD departments

• Instructional Web Development Center

  • Hosts Web sites for instructional courses, campus departments, and other UCSD-affiliated organizations. Provides tutoring to faculty and workshops to teaching assistants and staff on the creation of instructional Web resources

• Software Distribution

  • Manages the distribution of bulk-purchased software to many departments on campus
