Supervisors, including all academic appointees, must complete two hours of sexual harassment prevention training every two years. New supervisors must complete two hours of training within six months of assuming supervisory responsibilities. This requirement is based on Assembly Bill 1825, which became law on Jan. 1, 2005.
Supervisors who need to fulfill the state requirement can:
- Take an online course: An online training program is available for supervisors. Those who have not satisfied the training requirement will receive an e-mail with a personalized link to the program.
You can take the two-hour course from any computer with access to the Internet, and you can stop and restart at any time. The program also keeps track of who has completed the course. For assistance with the online program, contact uctraining@ucop.edu.
Note: The online course will be unavailable due to maintenance beginning July 1, 2008. We anticipate the online course will be available again in late fall, 2008 or early winter, 2009. Anyone needing to fulfill the requirement during this time should enroll in the classroom training.
- Attend classroom training: Register for a two-hour class presented by the Office of Sexual Harassment Prevention and Policy (OSHPP) through Enrollment Central.
Note: Those attending the class may disregard the email containing a personalized link.
For more information, visit the OSHPP Web site for frequently asked questions about the training requirement, including information about the online program and classroom training registration.
