Walking is great for your social life as well as your health. Network with others across campus, or just step out with friends in your department, college or residence hall. Form a team of friends or colleagues and compete against other teams for great prizes.

Drawing winners

Congratulations to the winners of the 2008-2009 team drawing, which took place June 5, 2009. Great teamwork!

• We Will Walk U (14,107,838 steps) won $10 Croutons gift cards and two free circuit-training class at RIMAC in the Wellness Studio
• Walkers Rock! (10,596,126 steps) won $10 Espresso Roma gift cards
• Revelle College Staff (8,373,809 steps) won $10 Bookstore gift cards

To be eligible for the drawing, teams had to reach at least 300,000 steps between Oct. 1, 2008, and June 5, 2009. Winners were chosen by random drawing. The next team competition period begins Oct. 5, 2009.

Guidelines for establishing a team:

• Designate a team captain.
• Teams must consist of at least five members and not exceed 15 members.
• Team incentives will be determined by a drawing.
• Each team on which every member reaches 300,000 steps between Oct. 1, 2008 and June 5, 2009, is eligible for the drawing.
• Of the eligible teams, three will be chosen at random by a drawing for the team incentives.
