Driving change: Time for a new Blink

In 2001: Blink was the first of its kind
Blink launched as the first open intranet in the UC system. We invited other campuses to freely "copy" Blink, and they have. Employees at other UC locations, such as Santa Cruz and Irvine, even use Blink as their home page because it answers so many on-the-job questions for UC staff and faculty.

Blink's enthusiastic Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) have created more than 4,000 pages of content since 2000.

In 2009: Blink's ready for an extreme makeover!
In September, Portal Services initiated a multifaceted project to renew and revitalize Blink. We will:

• Find out what you, our users, want in your intranet
• Move to a new content management system
• Redesign the home page and tabs to match look and feel of UCSD home page
• Reorganize and streamline Blink content
• Expand and enhance Blink's technical features

We invite you to help!
Some of you are already working with us as partners in this project, and we want to include more Blink users along the road. Watch the Blink home page for invitations to test-drive a new Blink.
