The annual Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action and Diversity Awards Program was held Thursday, February 14, 2008. The event honored staff, faculty, students, departments, and organizational units or groups that made outstanding contributions in the areas of equal opportunity, affirmative action, diversity, and the UCSD Principles of Community during 2007.

Qualities of a Diversity Champion:

• Promotes fairness in the workplace
• Celebrates cultural differences
• Makes UCSD a better place to work
• Demonstrates exemplary support of the UCSD Principles of Community

Nominations for the award are generally accepted starting in the fall. All members of the UCSD community are encouraged to nominate or endorse colleagues who deserve the title Diversity Champion.
