Principal investigators must make sure individuals listed on their Radioisotope Use Authorization (RUA) complete appropriate training prior to any unsupervised work with radioactive material.
Read about required and recommended radiation safety training below.
With the exception of laser safety training, these programs are for research users only, not medical (routine treatment and diagnosis) users. For Nuclear Medicine, contact the EH&S Healthcare Safety Office, (619) 543-7575, to schedule safety training specific to health care providers.
| Required training |
| Radiation: Safety Seminar |
Required for anyone using radioactive materials.
|
| Annual Radiation Safety Refresher |
Required for anyone using radioactive materials.
|
| Radiation: P-32 Safety Seminar |
