Layoff/ Reduction in Time: Resources for UCSD Employees  
 
Summary: Learn about support services available to employees who have received notification of layoffs/ reductions in time.

If you have received a notification of layoff, you may benefit from using the activities and support services listed below.
  • Find out what you need to know about layoff:
  • Use UCSD's staff resources:
    • Employee Relations, (858) 534-4115, provides advice and guidance in response to UCSD's union contracts and personnel policies.
    • Employment & Community Outreach Services, (858) 534-7613, provides ongoing support to laid-off employees. Contact this unit for skills assessment and development, resume assistance and job search strategies.
    • Your benefits representative can guide you through benefits continuation and retirement plan options.
    • Staff Education and Development can advise you in classes you can take to enhance your job skills.
    • The Faculty and Staff Assistance Program provides guidance and counseling on life issues related to the stress of layoff.
