Employees exposed to noise level at or above 85 decibels over an 8-hour workday as part of their job must receive hearing conservation training before beginning work.

- Terminology and concepts relating to sound pressure level
- Anatomy of the ear and types of hearing loss
- Methods of reducing high noise levels
- Types of hearing protection and proper usage
Training is available upon request. Contact the EH&S Industrial Hygiene, (858) 534-1075, to schedule training. Instruction time is 1 hour.
