Service Credit refers to an employee's length of service with the University of California or other California state agencies.
Staff employees are eligible for service pins when they have achieved 10 or more years of service, at 5-year intervals (10, 15, 20, etc.):
- UCSD gold logo pin (10 years)
- UCSD gold logo pin with sapphire(s) (15, 20, 25, 30, 35 years)
- UCSD gold logo pin with diamond(s) (40, 45, 50, 55 years)
Departments should request service pins for eligible employees. There is no cost to the department or employee for the service credit pin program. The following links outline the procedures to calculate service credit and obtain a service pin. All forms are PDF format and are fillable, may be saved, printed and e-mailed.
If a department or employee loses a service pin, the department may request a replacement pin, but there may be an associated charge.
