UCSD assigns employees AT&T calling cards for off-campus calls because of the per-minute discount.
To get a calling card:
- Ask your departmental business office to submit a Customer Service Request (CSR), choosing Auth Codes, Calling Cards & Index Changes in the Select a Service drop-down menu.
- Include the name, Mail Code, and recharge index on the CSR. Each calling card can be recharged to only one index.
- You'll receive your card in the campus mail in two to three days.
Calling card rates per minute:
- Domestic (calls originating from the U.S. and terminating in the U.S.):
- Local $0.04
- Zone 3 $0.03
- Intrastate $0.05
- Interstate $0.05
- International (calls from the U.S. to other countries, and from other countries to the U.S.): See rate sheet (Excel).
Note: Many non-U.S. telecommunications companies impose an additional per-minute fee, called an International Mobile Termination Charge (IMTC), for international calls from the U.S. to wireless communications devices. The charges vary by country.
