Note: Be sure to check your department's policy on voice mail passwords before you begin.
  • Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key. When prompted:
  • Press 0 to select manage your personal options.
  • Press 3 to change your personal profile.
  • Press 1 to change your password.
    • Enter your new password and press the # key.
    • For verification, enter your new password again and press the # key.

Create and use personal groups.



Set up one or more groups of individuals to whom you will regularly send recorded messages.

Note: Be sure to have the phone extension of each group member handy, since you will need to enter these extensions as part of the group setup/ modification process.
"Personal groups" are lists of other subscribers that you may need to contact regularly with recorded messages. After you have set up a personal group, use its group number whenever you want to send a message to all members.
  • Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key. When prompted:
  • Press 0 to select manage your personal options.
  • Press 3 to change your personal profile.
  • Press 3 to manage your personal groups.
  • Add a new group:
    1. Press 1 to add a new group.
    2. Assign a group number (must have at least 2 digits).
    3. Enter group members' extensions, and press the # key after each entry.
    4. Press the # key twice when you are finished entering extensions.
  • Delete a group:
    1. Press 2 at the personal groups menu to select delete groups.
    2. The system will play back your current assigned group numbers.
    3. Enter the group number you want to delete.
  • Review a group:
    1. Press 3 at the personal groups menu to select review groups.
    2. The system will play back your current group numbers.
    3. Select the group number you want to review.
    4. The system will playback the members within the group.
    5. Press 1 to add a member and 2 to delete a member.
    6. Enter the extension you want to add or delete and press the # key.
Note: To send a message to a group, use the group number instead of an extension to send or forward messages to all members of a group.

Set playback preferences.



Set up how you want the system to function as it plays your incoming recorded messages (choose simple or detailed menus, how messages will be sorted, mailbox confirmation option).
Choose how you want to hear your voice mail messages by setting up preferences for playback options, message sorting, and mailbox confirmation.

By setting the playback mode, you can choose to hear either simple or detailed instructions each time you retrieve messages. With message sorting, you can choose to hear oldest or newest messages first. And with mailbox confirmation, you can choose to hear a confirmation of whose mailbox you are checking (useful if you regularly check more than one mailbox).
  • Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key. When prompted:
  • Press 0 to manage your personal options.
  • Press 3 to change your personal profile.
  • Press 4 to select the playback options menu.
  • Set playback mode:
    1. Press 1 to select verbose mode to get detailed instructions about your options when you call to get your messages.
      or
      Press 2 to select brief mode with limited instructions so you can move quickly through menus and choices.
  • Set message sorting:
    1. Press 2 at the playback options menu to select message sorting.
    2. Press 1 to play oldest message first or 2 to play newest message first.
  • Set mailbox confirmation:
    1. Press 4 at the playback options menu to select mailbox confirmation.
    2. Press 1 to activate mailbox confirmation or press 2 to deactivate mailbox confirmation.

Set message notification.



Direct your voicemail to call your pager when you receive incoming messages.
Direct voice mail to call your pager when a message reaches your mailbox.

You can turn the paging feature on or off, and you can choose to be paged at all times or specific times. When you activate this feature, you will be paged every 15 minutes until you log in and pick up your messages.
  • Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key. When prompted:
  • Press 0 to select manage your personal options.
  • Press 3 to change your personal profile.
  • Press 5 to select notification options.
  • Turn message notification on or off:
    1. Press 1 to select change notification.
    2. Press 1 to turn notification on or off.
    3. Press 2 to select pager alerts.
    4. Press 3 to turn on phone-based alerts.
  • Turn paging on or off with the "change alert reason" feature:
    1. Press 2 at the notification options menu.
    2. Press 1 to turn notification on or off.
  • Set alert time schedule:
    1. Press 3 at the notification options menu.
    2. Press 1 to receive alerts at all times
    3. Press 2 to receive alerts at specific times. Enter start time and stop time in military format.
  • Set telephone number:
    1. Press 4 at the message notification menu to select set number.
    2. Enter pager number and press 1.
    3. You will hear the number; press 1 to confirm.
    4. Press 2 to re-enter the number.

Select, change, or remove an attendant.



Your voice mail message can direct callers to contact your assistant or another attendant in your absence.
Your callers can reach your attendant by following instructions in your greeting. To edit your greeting to add this feature:
  • Enter 42000 or 48000 to reach the Voice Mail Message Center, and enter your password, then press the # key. When prompted:
  • Press 0 to select manage your personal options.
  • Press 3 to change your personal profile.
  • Press 6 to select attendant.
  • Set your attendant:
    1. Press 1 at the select attendant menu to select set attendant.
    2. Enter the extension of your attendant.
    3. Press # to save.
    4. Be sure to record a voice mail greeting instructing your callers to press 0 to reach your attendant.
  • Review current attendant:
    1. Press 2 at the select attendant menu.
    2. Hear current attendant.
  • Remove attendant:
    1. Press 3 at the select attendant menu.
    2. Attendant is removed.
