Rape Aggression Defense Classes

Summary: Learn about UCSD's self-defense classes for women.

Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) is a national program designed to provide women with the concepts and methods needed for self-defense. The program enables women to take a more active role in protecting themselves and their psychological well-being.

R.A.D. program classes are held every quarter at the UCSD Police Department located at Campus Services Complex, Building B (map). The class is taught by certified R.A.D. instructors over three evenings, and costs $10. It is open to all women in the community.

Take a R.A.D. class to learn:

  • Effective and proven self-defense techniques
  • Awareness and prevention
  • Risk reduction and avoidance

If you have questions or want to sign up for the next class, contact the Sexual Assault Resource Center, (858) 534-5793.

For more information about R.A.D. visit the R.A.D. Web site.
