Review gift-giving guidelines. |
- Read the guidelines on gift giving to review policy and cost limits.

Write a justification. |
- Provide the following information in your justification:
- Name of the person or organization to receive the gift
- Type of gift
- Purpose of the gift
- Special circumstances that require the exception
Note: Giving a gift to a non-employee or organization must have a clear business purpose or benefit to UCSD.

Submit your justification. |
- Submit your written justification to the disbursements manager.
Note: The disbursements manager will coordinate your request with the controller, who authorizes exceptions on a case-by-case basis.
